150 Gallon Aquarium – Fish To Keep In One

A 150 gallon aquarium offers you the chance to keep a wide variety of fish in it. Certainly if you are someone who
wants to turn their hobby of keeping tropical fish into something a little more wonderful where you are able to make
it into a reef tank; then building yourself a new aquarium using a 150 gallon aquarium is a great idea.
However, before you do, it is important that you think carefully about this project before undertaking it. One of the
first things you actually need to determine is, "do you in fact have the space in your home to install such a large
aquarium in which to keep your favorite fish such as Clownfish"?
Also one needs to be aware that installing a 150 gallon aquarium in your home is going to take a considerable amount
of your time and patience to actually set it up. Certainly it may take considerably longer for you to actually get
the marine environment within your new 150 gallon aquarium right, so that the fish and other marine life such as
seahorses, starfish and corals can live happily.
So Which Species Of Fish Can Be Kept In A 150 Gallon Aquarium?
The first thing you need to consider above anything else is, "do you want it to be a freshwater or saltwater
aquarium". Certainly if you go for a saltwater reef environment, there are numerous wonderful species of fish which
can be added to yours, and would make a wonderful addition to it. The ones we look at below are in fact some of the
easiest of all species of tropical fish that can be kept in such an aquarium.
- The Purple Tang – This is also known in scientific terms as the Zebrasoma Xanthurus.
- The Yellow Stripe Maroon Clownfish - Its scientific name is Premnas Biaculeatus, but it is also known as the Maroon Anemone Fish, Spinecheek Anemone fish, Maroon and Gold Stripe.
- Sea Anemone – This in scientific terms is known as the Entacmaea Quardicolor.
Why Select These Species Of Fish For Your 150 Gallon Aquarium
Certainly the Purple Tang is a tropical saltwater fish that is ideally suited to living in tanks which hold more than 100 gallons of water. It is an herbivore and will happily feed off any plants that you place into your 150 gallon aquarium reef tank. Also you need to be aware that this particular species of fish can act aggressively towards thers, so you need to make sure that the others you place in the tank with it, are compatible. Also these fish can ecome extremely territorial.
As for the Clownfish, again it has a wonderful array of colors on its body, most notably the yellow strip which is on ts forehead, the middle part of its body and on its tail. Not only are these fish very easy to look after but they on’t have any problems being placed into a 150 gallon aquarium.
As for the Sea Anemone, this is one species of fish that you really should be considering for your 150 gallon aquarium. They get along really well with the Clownfish and in fact have no problems living in aquariums of any size.
